-he is a 12 year old golden retriver
-he has a large firm mass of something a couple of inches away from his front right shoulder blade
-he doesn't seem to have any bone pain
-he has arthritis


we haven't taken him to the vet yet, we can't get in for another month...he has had the "lump" forever and the vet said not to worry about it unless it grows....it has tripled if not quadrupled in the last 4 years...I'm really worried..please help!!!!!

I would call around to see if any other vet can get you in sooner. Osteosarc is common in goldens. They can get a pretty good idea of what is going on with radiographs.

a bone biopsy will confirm after an x-ray is taken
