Blue tooth is a low power wireless connection. It was originally designed to provide a wireless headset for cellphones, keeping the high powered receiver from close proximity to the head where it theoretically can have adverse effects (tumors, etc.). It has been adapted for other uses in close proximity communication with other wireless devices. It is an evolution of IR communication but doesn't require the "line of sight" between sensors that IR does.

Blue Tooth is not only for phones. Your computer may take blue tooth keyboards and mice or perhaps a digital camera. Some Chevy vehicles now send thier data (check engine info) via blue tooth.

Bluetooth is simply a wireless connection used to connect different devices.
If it is on your computer, you can connect things to it. Like mouses, keyboard, mobile phones, other computers and even mobile headsets.
Check it out on google for more information on what you can use it for!! =)

If it is for a phone it is so you dont have to carry your phone with you ,you can call someone from any room in your house and leave your phone in your purse or whereever ( it goes on your ear and most are comftorble) and you can even answer phone calls they are great.you would need to talk to your provider to see if your phone can be used with that.
