It is up to you Y/A answerers! Which is better for combat, the ACU or the MARPAT?

You decide. I need ammunition next time I get into it with those Army tough guys.

I'm in the army, was a navy corpsman for 5 yrs. i changed to army just as the mapat was being issued to the marines and green side corps man,, i say the marpat is better, here is why i think so,, the acu is to light of a color to be of any use in the desert or in jungle warfare as it stands out in these environments,, it seems that the r&d gus were just thinking about urban warfare with this desighn. On the other hand the marpat is sutied for all three enviroments, and is a lot more comfertable, and breathes a lot more than the acu

acu,marpat,both great in camoflage marpat is for more close range because of the old 'guess where your going and hope you blend in' tactic like with the old woodland and desert camo which often works but then your the tree in the desert or the sandbox in the woods while the acu is for long range so that it breaks up your outline and the contrast colors fade and the background color sticks out but personally i think the acu has the atvatage because i hate taking a gamble i wather blend in a little than not at all (in Iraq probable not that hard to decide on desert marpat)

I don't know what the MARPAT is but I just got the ACUs and they are comfortable but I am always getting stuck to myself...too much velcro..I hate them..
