Her teeth are starting to go crooked already and i think its because she spends 24/7 with it in her mouth. Any suggestions?

I made my daughter put hers under the pillow and told her the dummy fairy would come and take it away and leave her a present. It worked a treat.

by the age of 2 if you are still using the dummy then it needs to be for bed only. Do what I did. Go get the nail polish from the chemist that is to stop people chewing their nails. Paint this on the dummy (ies) and when she said it tastes bad pretend to wash it (the handle end makes them think it really has been done) and just say it is there if you want it. Even if you say it must taste bad because you have gotten too old for it. I did this for my daughter at 2.5 and she just threw it away with out another problem (my son....well that's a whole other story lol)

With my first child I tried many ways but only 1 worked. When I had my second son I did the same thing and it worked instantly with both. I simply cut the end of the dummy off, leaving just a small amount behind. When they put it in their mouth it felt strange so they took it out and looked at it. They said, "Broken". I agreed and told them they would either have to use it like that or throw it out. Both immediately threw them out and that was the end of the dummy forever. I'll do the same with this bubs too.

Her teeth are starting to get crooked because of genetics. Obviously the (say it with me...) PACIFIER is a comfort to her, I can't imagine a parent wanting to remove a source of comfort from their child. I suggest you look at old photos of your child's entire family and ask about their teeth when they were younger. More likely than not they had problems. Children usually give up the PACIFIER on their own around three years.

My two boys never took to them thank lord. My daughter did. I broke my daughter of her "binkie" when she was 18 months and know how hard it is. The simple part was collecting them and throwing them all away. She used hers mainly at night as well. I had two VERY rough nights. Her first screaming and refusing to sleep and then waking often looking for it. I stood my ground and told her the were all gone, the third night went a bit smoother she asked for it, whined a little and went to sleep, but still woke often. Night four no whining but when she woke. Fifth night she slept through. She no longer has her binkie, but has a blankie and stuffed bear she HAS to have to sleep. Perhaps find another "lovie" or comfort item for her in place of the binkie. Be consistent and firm. Remove all of them so you're not tempted to give in. Good luck to you!

If you have a pet, that stays indoors and also goes outside, but in at the moment, grab the "dummie" and put near the animal. tell the child the dog/cat ate the dummie and theres no more left.

yes! the dummie fairies.......1st off try and ween off day time use and just at nap times and bedtime....do this for a week or so .... during this time tell your daughter all about the dummie fairies that take the big girls dummie and give it to the new little babies that need it.....I did this and one night I asked my daughter to leave one of her dummies for the fairy to get when she's asleep...so she had one and she left one for the fairy....and in the morning was happy that the fairy had come....my daughter had a stash of dummies so it took a few goes but in the end we got there!.....she did ask for it a few times but I just said that she was growing to be a big girl and that the babies had the dummies now....I brought her a new teddy to cuddle in bed.
Like I say it worked for me and other friends of mine and it makes them feel a little more grown up...anyway good luck and don't give in as you will get there xx

What i did with my little ones dummy was bin it, when she asked for it i said lets go look and together we searched house from top to bottom, I kept saying "wheres the dummy gone?" in the end she accepted it had gone, a bit sneaky but it cured her.

Put them all in a basket on the tree outside. Tell her the fairy is coming to take them away, and will leave her a treat. Then when she's asleep throw away the pacifiers and put a sippy cup or a new toy in the basket.

My nephew has to put his in a magic dummy draw when he wakes up in the morning so it can go to sleep while he plays. He loves the idea and every morning, he dutifully puts his dummy in the magic drawer. Maybe worth a go!
