We are going to paint 3 of the walls sea foam green. On the last wall, we are going to paint a mural of underwater with coral reef, sand, fish and a few other things. This will be a room for an infant. He is due in about 13 weeks, so we need to get started now. We just need a few more ideas to get things started! Thanks in advance for your help.

I posted this in another category and got negative results. I need advice and creative ideas. Not criticism. Thanks!

This is my favorite theme :)

I had done this with my first child we picked out a few types of blues and seagreens and some sandy type of color.
We did an ocean border with a mural of dolphins fish and a mermaid on one wall too.
We used it for a girl and then a boy
If you email me i can send you some pictures of the room so maybe you can get a little inspiration.

I found this also for you
beach theme, paint a mural of the beach and open horizon on the wall. Place a Cape Cod Saltbox just over the dunes with some swimsuits drying and ready to wear on a clothesline. Include some beach toys, a bucket and other baby beach gear left on the sand after a perfect day at the beach. Use some textured paint for a real sandy feel to the walls.

Stencils, stickers and decals are as always an excellent shortcut in building your ocean or baby's underwater theme nursery mural.

If you prefer a more natural approach for the room, decorate the walls with pictures of baby sea turtles, baby sea otters and baby sea lions frolicking in the surf. Order sea life baby bedding from a natural wonders store. Gather baby safe seashells and dried starfish to add texture and color to the room.

For a child's underwater nursery theme turn baby's nursery toy chest into a pirate's treasure chest rescued from the under the sea.

Paint a mural of the deep sea complete with fish, seaweed, a ship wrecked pirate's ship, colorful coral and a shark or two with faint rays of sunshine filtering down from the surface.

Use a fishnet as a window treatment. Arrange it so that a few seashells or starfish can be tucked inside.

* we used the fishnets as curtains and it looked amazing with natural shells

this is our bedding theme i found the same set on ebay if you want to take a look at it the set is called Kidsline Del Mar Crib Set

when everything is coordinated it looks amazing and the walls look like you are underwater ;)

Good luck and Congrat on your new addition

My son's room is also done in the ocean theme! What I did was.. 1.)Painted the entire room a blueish/purple (So it was universal between boy and girl),
2.)Painted about midway down the wall with 2-3 shades of blue with white caps (for the ocean waves),
3.) Painted the very bottom with 2 sand colored paints, and used real sand for texture. Right above that there is green "kelp" type seaweed.

Then on one wall of the nursery there is a picture of a sunset (shades of red, purple, and blues) With a "great-stuff" dolphin, and palm tree, and sea shells glued on at the bottom. The dolphin and the palm tree were also painted. Sticking out of the top of the palm tree is silk fern plants, to make it look like a real tree. In my opinion, it looks great! Email me if you want pictures!!!

go to a party supply store, that's a common theme for birthday parties and you can probably find some cute things there.
At my local dollar store, they sold stickers that you can take off without leaving a mark-they had ocean themed ones. I've also found them in other stores.
Fisher Price has an aquarium theme line of baby gear too.

Do the third wall in a light blue (so you dont have anything to dark) use a tan color for the sand, and maybe paint about a third of the bottom of the wall in the tan. Dont make the top straight though make it almost wavy so it looks like sand. Use oranges and red for the coral, and then add fish, starfish, everything like that. Im sure you can go to something like Home Depot for ideas and things. Just make it colorful and use your imaganation. Use maybe a blue curtain, and colorful shelves or book cases.

I wish I could tell you where you could buy it, but my aunt (also with an ocean theme) have water applied decals of underwater creatures. Also, you could apply some real sand to the paint for a more textured look. If you could figure some way to safely secure small stuffed animals to the wall, I'm sure it would not only look good, but get some use out of the child.

Sounds wonderful, don't listen to critism. Soft colors will be soothing to baby, details will help bnaby's eyes develop as they take in the world around them.

You didn't say anything about sea creatures, how about thinking unique; a mama manatee and her baby, baby octopus, sea horses. Wonderful learning experiences to build on as your baby grows into a toddler. Imafges on wall can give you imaginary stories and vocabulary you can tell to baby in daily routing of changing and playing. Good luck, and have fun.

How about a row boat with a little boy sitting in it fishing .
the line goes down and you can see small fish swimming .
Do a light blue sky with a lot of white clouds .
(use a sponge for the clouds )

I think the room is going to be overdone - bright, distracting, etc. And three green walls? Maybe reconsider that.

I guess I don't really know what your question is. Seems like you've got every inch of the room covered.
