The prevalence of a disease is the proportion of a population that are cases at a specified point in time. The latest published prevalence by the CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) is year end 2005: 23,305 cases of Lyme disease.

The incidence fluctuates so unpredictably, as much as 40% up or down, that it can be quite inaccurate to infer the number of current cases today. Most Lyme Disease cases occur in the original colonial states with the remaining majority being in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Most other states have very little prevalence if any.

Try direct contact via cdc.gov or contacting the agency below, perhaps they can provide you with the latest data not yet published.
