Ok I've been dating this guy on and off for 8 yrs now. 4 months ago I went to Haiti with my mom and he told me that he had paid some girl from canada to marry him and get him there and he would marry me once he gets to canada, blah, blah, blah!
We had a great time there and my mom and I came back home. We kept in touch and would spend hrs on the phone(very expensive). Well last night I called him and he told me that the girl had gone to Haiti to marry him and blah, blah, blah!
Now what? I don't really like this and I don't know what to say really. I just said well that's great and left it at that, it was a very ackward conversation actually. Finally he told me he'd call me today and I hang up the phone. But what do I make of this?

You're hurt, you have every right to be hurt. Damn I'd slam that phone down, and throw it across the room and make sure he heard it too. It's okay to be hurt, you must feel betrayed. Why would your boyfriend go out and marry someone while you go on vacation, and not simply marry you instead? Was he just using you for marriage to get a green card?
I think it's time to move on, he's married now. It's time to think of your needs, wants, and desires. It's time to do some healing.

So from what i read i take it that they married so that he can become a citizen of Canada? I know some people that has done this also. The bad part of it is that 1 of my friends boyfriends is the one that married her and now left my friend. You need to be careful of you feeling towards him. They have to stay married for at least a year so they have to have alot of contact when the have to see immigration and talk to a judge to determine they're marriage is legit. So take in mind to keep him as a friend and dont get ur feeling all over him.

What?!? I'm very confused. So you live in Canada, and he lives in Haiti. Am I right?
Either way, I wouldn't trust a guy who says he's going to marry another girl so he can get to you. That just doesn't make sense, and I think it's very low morals.

Well i think marriage is very sacred, it shouldn't be used for anything other than what its for bringing 2 people together than love one another and want to spend the rest of their lives together. You shouldn't get married for the kids, because in the long run they re the ones who are gonna suffer. You defiantly shouldn't get married to stay in a country. Besides why didn't he just marry you to stay? They do check to make sure its legitimate, they re gonna have to live together, play house etc. Do you see my point? Is this a story you wanna tell your kids?

This sounds like some BS to me. I would never be okay with my man marring someone else for whatever reason. There are other way's to get visa's. In eight years if he hasn't asked YOU to marry him yet then move on.

Yea, that made no sense at all. But from what I could gather, he is marrying someone else? If that's that case, he is not your boyfriend to begin with. Let him go and move on.

he's not ready for commitment. you deserve someono who truly loves you and it is not up for games. Drop him, don't waste your time calling him. He'll create another fantastic story, you already know that he is full of B.S.!!!! Love yourself more than him and please don't waste another 8 precious years out of your life. You can do more constructive things with that kind of time

you either let him be and let him marry this girl or you do what you got to do to get your man, i dont really understand your question so that is my advice.
