In a fit of sale-induced mania, I bought some candy canes for 75% off, thinking I could use them next Christmas. But I wondered if they would still be fresh next year. I know they won't go bad, but I want to make sure they don't lose any flavor.

I have a big box of candy canes that I decorate my Christmas tree with every year. Each year, some get eaten and some don't. They are the kind wrapped in plastic, and even after several years, they don't lose their taste or their quality.

they wont lose flavor, but the moisture in the air will cause the colors to run slightly. Keep them in a very dry place and they'll be fine. I buy them for years at a time

nicely you may continuously try it and see how apparently next year. next year once you open one and apparently sticky its probable undesirable. Ever chew right into a complicated piece of sweet and it became comfortable on the first layer then complicated below? Thats undesirable. So if the sweet can does that i'd throw them away or basically use them for adornment.

Well you could keep them out and just eat them year round. . . .But I think you'd be able to tell if they were gone bad. The wrappers would seem sticky. But they should last for a long time!

AS LONG AS THE WRAPPERS ON THEM ARE TIGHT THEY WILL LAST FOR YEARS. STORE STOE THEM AWAY FROM SEASON TO SEASON.
