i found out the reason i have the mold is because the extractor fans was not working. when i turned them on i thought they were but i got concerned so i looked on the net and saw that you can do a test to see if they were working they failed the test, i didnt know about this test before i have been living here two years. i have reported the mold before and they sent someone round but he didnt check the extractor fans. i also have a tap that hasnt been fixed for over a year.

Well mold is not good no matter what, and should be fixed right away if you have not told the landlord about it then you should. It all depends on what you can afford and what the rules are about moving before your lease is up. One thing though, the mold should be taken care of asap. Tell your landlord or who ever manages the place your living at whats going on. Tell them that its very dangerous to be around the mold for you and the baby, and that your neighbors are very loud, and you need a bigger place. Most likely they will work with you, but your rent will most likely go up.

If you contact your landlord and explain to her the dangerous health conditions with the mold, and the problem with your neighbors, she/he is required to move you. She/he may not move you on the neighbors alone, but it is against the law her/him to lease a place with dangerous hazards like that. Call her/him and let them know that you are pregnant and the mold isn't healthy for both of you and you would like to be moved. If she won't oblige I suggest going to the local social services or the police and reporting your living conditions and see what can be done about it.

You need to get out of there asap, mold can harm not only yourself but your unborn child.

You can call a lawyer in your area to find out about laws regarding you moving and the landlords obligation, please do so as soon as you can.

As far as moving to a bigger place, that is soley up to you and your financial situation

It is against the law for ANY landlord to NOT rid an apartment of mold. If I were you I'd be contacting the authorities especially now that you are pregnant. Mold CAN kill.

Im not exactly sure what you are asking here--
are you asking if it's better to move before baby gets there or after he/she arrives?
or are you asking a question about a problem landlord?

I'll go with the first one-- I think if you feel up to it--moving will be easier before baby arrives.
after baby gets there, you never know what will go on with him/her--plus you will be exhausted and not feeling like doing anything.
