the dentist wont be open till tuesday,but my wife will be getting her c-section done tuesday.so i'm not seeing a opportunity to see the dentist for a few days.any suggestions will be great,i am in so much pain,and almost out of pain killers dentist subscribed.

OK first off you need to call your dentist and see if the have an answering service. He might come in for an emergency appt. for you. He needs to repack the hole for you with medicated cotton. You can also call the drug store and ask the pharmacist if they have anything for dry socket. some places sell clove oil that you dip cotton into and pack yourself. One of my patients found himself in Florida with a dry socket and this is what he did. He said it hurt like heck at first but then the pain went away for about 3 hours. You can also take up to 800mg of Advil. For god sake to not put aspirin in your mouth. you will get aspirin burn. You can also call your local ER and ask them what they can do for you. They might just be able to give you a refill on your meds until you can get into your Dr.
Plus if you smoke... don't it will only aggravate the problem.

Don't listen to the guy that was calling you a wimp. I work for a dentist and this is a different experience for everyone. I see a pro fighter that was crying in my chair due to dry socket.

First call your doctor. There will be a way to get a hold of him. It will be either an answering service or they will give a telephone number of someone that you can call and you can get it treated. We use asprin and clove oil it seems to do the trick...Good Luck

Your dentist should have an on call person to help you out in case of emergency, call the office number to see what the emergency number is.

call you doctor now, he can bring you into his office. they just need to stuff eugenol soaked gauze into the sockets
