I need them for a science project and haven't been able to find them. I heard they might be illegal. If so, is there anything similar to them out there that are legal?

I just did a search in Google for Mexican Jumping Beans and found a ton of sites where you can buy them. They are not illegal.

Real ones are probably illegal to import but I saw toy ones that act the same at the dollar store or ocean state job lot in the toy section.

When I was a child you could get them everywhere, but I haven't seen them for 50 years or more.My guess would be that they are illegal and there is nothing similar.
