In older versions of Internet Explorer there was a menu bar that displayed a box where you could type the address of a website and if you pressed Enter, the browser would open that page. How do I get that menu bar to show up on IE7? I can't seem to find one.

First, press alt to bring up the options bar. It will probably appear under your address bar. Click view, and then status bar. Alternatively, you can click on different places on the default menus at the top of the app and click the status bar item.

EDITED: Sorry, didn't read your question thoroughly. That should be enabled by default, but some website pop ups deactivate it. Open a new copy if internet explorer. Or you could just press CTRL+L to open an address box.

That bar should still be there in IE 7.

Look at the menu bar where the "back" , "forward" , "home" buttons are.
Follow this menu bar with your mouse to the right until there are no more icons.
Once there, there will be no more icons, just empty space.
In the empty space right-click on your mouse and there should be a list come up, you shoul dsee the "address" bar listed there.
Just select it and it will enable it.

But in IE 7 it is locked in place to prevent phishing, so you can't move the address bar from it's default location.
