I am 26 and there are 2 flights... the first one is ok the second one is quite sharp...

I have been living in this house for a year now and developed the crunching sounds in both my knees.

When I go up the stairs there is a a crunch in my keens...

There hasn't been much pain, but since its gotten cold, they are aching..

I hear glucosamine is good?

Any other tips, for some excercises I could do to strengthen the muscles that support the knee..

Thank you all very much!

that depends on the health of your knees. If you are older or have had knee injury-yes stairs can strain the muscles and ligaments that keep your knee aligned. one way to prevent knee injury is to keep your upper thigh muscles toned (quadriceps) and keep your weight down.otherwise a moderate amount of stairs should be fine.

Unlikely, but it could aggravate an existing condition. I've lived on the third floor for years, no elevator, and I tend to sit cross-legged (which is bad for your knees) and I don't have any knee problems.

No. In fact, running up and down stairs can make your legs stronger. I do it in gym class all the time for warm-up; we call it “running stairs.”
