I fear I have mental issues. It terrifies me!!! My mother is mentally ill and I'm always afraid I'm going to end up like her and signs are pointing toward it. I've been dating a wonderful man since July. I haven't dated anyone else since my divorce a few years ago. I met him and knew that (even though I thought I'd never want to be with anyone else again...) he was the one for me. I have been going through much stress lately... My dad is dying, my mom is driving me insane, my kids have been sick, we've had several power outages because of weather... it goes on and on. My boyfriend told me of his plans for today (which didn't include me). I was hurt because it is something he knows I would love to do with him and he didn't even ask me to go. I ended up blowing up about something small instead of the main issue and I went overboard BIG TIME! I'm so embarrassed and shamed. I fear it is over. Apologizing isn't going to fix this problem. I honestly don't know what my question is.

It seems to me that you just need to relax. You have a lot on your plate. You should take some time for yourself. Tell him that you are sorry for blowing up at him and assure him that you just feel that you need some extra attention. You've been giving your time to everyone else and not getting any in return and since he is the one person who is "suppose" to give you attention, you felt hurt that his plans didn't include you. My fiance and I have arguments about that all the time. Just reasure him that you are going through a lot and you need his support.
Hope this helps

Wow you sound like you really are under pressure, Take a moment to really look at the problems you are having and look at them separately, Your father is obviously the greatest concern for you at the moment and I can only say that I hope you can prioritize your feelings and see them for what they are. Is the problem of mental issues a concurring thing in your family? if not then there is next to no chance that you are going nuts it is most probably the multitude of things that seem to be going wrong that are making you feel this way. Your next move is to sit down with your man, perhaps in a public place where you will both stay calm and explain exactly what you have said in your statement above, that you are sorry about the argument but having thought it through the reasons are obvious to you now and tell him everything.
If this guy is the one for you he will understand and then you can move on positively, please understand that he is a guy ( I am a guy so I know this for a fact), guys don't think, they just act and sometimes we don't mean to hurt you it is purely the fact that we forget sometimes. Good luck and my best wishes to you

Sweetheart, its going to be ok.

Your kids will get better and the weather will improve. This is for certain. Don't be ashamed of yelling at him, if he knew you want to do this, he should of included you. But thats nothing to end a relationship over, call him, you dont have to apologize right away, just keep the lines of communication open if you want to keep him.

I'm sorry about your father, you should spend time with him. I know your children will want to have memories of him just as you do. Take some time and spend it with him, that is by far the best thing you can do right now.

Things can only get better. Take a deep breath, take a few moments to do something for yourself, you can't take it all on alone, you need a small breather now and then. Even Atlas needed a break.

*hugs*

I think you are too stressed out, what you need to do is deal with one issue at a time. Have you ever heard of the serenity prayer? Except the things that you can not control, courage to change the things that you can, and the wisdom to know the differences. Because your mom has a problem, does not mean that you have to have it. What you need to do is take things in strives, and stop sweating the small stuff. You need to work on you, read books on self esteem. look at life in a more positive way. learn to smile, and be nice to yourself, and then you can be nicer to others. Happy New Year!

it defintaly seems like you need to take a moment and breath and just not think aboout anything for a moment, o.k. after you have done that then you can start to fix the problems. lets see: the kids are sick theres nothing really that you can do about it, unless your the miracle healer and you make them better, so dont stress on that, and the power is out so you frustrated nothing you can do about that either, your man is not involving you in his plans and yes that sucks but theres nithing you can do about that but talk to him about your feelings and hopefully he will understand, if its over then it was meant to be and you should let him go, another thing your mom has mental health issues but there is nothing you can do about that but just be there for her, and your dad is dying and that is tough and i am sorry that you have to deal with that but you cant change that unfortunatly all you can fo is just be there and spend time with him and make his last days special all these things that you arre dealing with you can not change so dont stress about them, just do all you can to handle them and when you start to feel stressed just take a moment and you should try talking about your feelings then you wont blow up so easily. well good luck and rememebr every minuet you spend upset is a minuet of happiness you dont ever get back

Your not having a mental problem, the answer is in your question...you have been dealing with stress, that's hard on anyone..I myself have been going through alot of loss lately, even thought i was losing my mind, try to think of all the positives in your life..sometimes we tend to look at the negatives, a wise person once told me that the sun always shines through the rain...take care and be well.

What you have to do is forgive yourself first, then forgive the person you feel has done you a injustice, I hope you find happiness soon as so as I
