I made a meat sauce last night and asked someone if they could put the leftover sauce in the fridge. They didn't put it in until 5 hours later..
I'm not sure if it's still ok to eat.

its fine... as long as it was at room temp and no hotter than about 75.
it probably needed to cool down after dinner, anyway... that takes up to 3 hours...

2 more hours isn't a big deal

btw- the way to resolve this is to put it in the fridge urself next time

Good parenting, and knowing who your ground beef's friends are,
are the best ways to prevent your ground beef from going bad.
If neccesary, take it on a trip to Burger King, for a sort of "scared
straight" encounter. Show it what can become of ground beef....
