actually chapped lips is a sing of dehydration.
its not always serious,
but drink lots of fluid, and then put on more chapstick,
plus its winter and that casues lips to be chapped as well.
its okay to use chapstick more than twice a day.

Try- Mary Kay Satin Lips- works great! It is a little pricey but it gets to the root of the problem with two important steps: lip mask then lip balm. You have to remove that dead lip skin gently before applying that lip balm. Go this website:

http://www.marykay.com/cdingle25/color/l...

There's a special called 20 Even. Its $18 for the Satin Lips and $2.00 for the shipping NO TAX!! SECURE on line credit card transactions. Special runs from 1/1/2007- 6/1/2007

I hope this helps good luck!!!!!!

Your lips don't have oil glands meaning they don't naturally produce moisture, so to help bring in that moisture you need to drink plenty of water. Water is very important. Dehydration can cause dry lips and dry skin. Try not to lick your lips because that can dry them out. The weather has a lot to do with dry lips, especially the winter. I try to do this once or twice a week (expecially during winter): take a wash cloth and wet it w/ hot (not too hot that it'll burn) water, hold it to your lips until the cloth cools (this softens the dry skin on your lips) and then use the cloth or a wet toothbrush to gently wipe away the dead dry skin on your lips. Follow up w/ Blistex, Carmex or good old Vaseline. Also Mary Kay Satin Lips (the set is wonderful, helps to remove dead skin as well) is good as well as the Body Shops Hemp Chanvre Lip Protector.

i would see a doctor about the diabetes part.

but as your lips go, use vaseline. tons of it. it really helps! also, if you cant drink cold water, or water at all, use a straw. put it between your teeth. that might be a way for nothing to touch your lips. if you try everything you can to fix your chapped lips, and nothing works, see a doctor. but drinking a lot and using lots of vaseline and chapped stick is the best way to cure it!

Your lips chap like that because you're dehydrated.
Drink like, 7-8 cups of water in a day and keep using the lip balm. I bet you it will get better.

If your chapped lips are that severe then u should use a medicated treatment for chapped lips. But if u insist on useing lip balm, don't! chapstick has way more patroleum than any lip gloss i know of. Lip gloss is way more healthy for your lips than chapstick. Patroleum dryes out your lips. Most lip glosses don't have any patroleum. but u might want to check the ingrediants just in case. About the diabeties part. If u are nervous about that, go to a doctor to get checked for diabeties. Its better to find out now than never. My father has diabeties and he sumtimes gets chaped lips, but i had no idea that it was a symtom for diabeties. wish u the best of luck.

Water is good, try taking a B-Complex vitamin. Since it is Winter it's
the driest coldest time of year. Put Preperation H on your lips at night
if your lips feel that bad use a straw. I had the same problems you have
the B-Complex helped, if you don't like Preperation H Vitamin E will
help too break open a capsule and rub on lips.During the day I also used
A & D ointment.

Lips chap more during the colder months. Try medicated chapsticks like Carmax or Blistex. To get rid of the crust put Vaseline on your lips then wait two minutes are brush your lips gently with a wet toothbrush. It works, I've tried it. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well there's your problem! You're not getting enough water. Your body needs fluids to retain your skin's moisture... keep using chapstick, and once a day wipe your lips from any dead skin, then reapply. Use a straw if you need to, or just carry around your chapstick to reapply after drinking from a cup.
Also, if it's winter where you live, it's normal to have chapped lips. =)

Drink the water and plenty of it. Use neosporin on your lips 4 times a day. Do not lick your lips.
