Go to the following website to get your free credit report.. http://www.annualcreditreport.com
Any inofrmation that you believe to be inaccurate, you can dispute with the credit agency. Anything you know for sure you owe, you should contact the company to make payment arrangements. Good luck!

Don't pay based on a credit report -- it could be incorrect, or simply not up to date. Do as the answerer above said and get a copy of your credit report.

Then, as bills come in, put them in a specific place and go through them. Check them against the credit report and make sure that there aren't other accounts NOT yours on the credit report. Paying bills late is what can mess you up when buying a house, so be sure to stay current! Good luck.

First step is to see what is on your credit report. A national law was passed a year or two ago entitling eveyone to a free report from each of the three credit bureaus each year. Goto www.annualcreditreport.com and get one of the reports and see what is on it.

go to equifax.com and request a credit report - you can dispute any errors online etc... you can also order your credit score which will give you an idea of any issues.
