"Mi vida" or "vida mía" is a term of endearment used in Spanish roughly equivalent to going around calling your significant other "honey" in English. You're not REALLY saying that they're sticky bee-barf good with peanut butter on sandwiches, but you call them honey anyway.
It doesn't make a whole lot more sense in Spanish.... lol. I hear French people go around calling each other "my little cabbage".
