To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if my father was gay. But if he really was, I wouldn't care. He and my mother had brought me into this world and for that I love them. If either one wants to like or be involved with the same sex, more power to them. I have a brother and a sister who are gay/lesbian, and we couldn't love them any less. It's the way they want to live there life's. It's there choices and the family should except them. Yea it would be kind of weird but like I said, it's their choices not ours. We have the choice to except it or hide in shame of it.

I have two questions for you first - will it change the fact that he and your mom brought you into the world ? Do you think that once some one says they are gay that there feelings no longer are true? The only thing I can think of that would change what I thought about my dad is weather he tried to do the best by me that he could. I just lost my dad a few years back - I'd do most anything to have him back and he really was not the best dad but he did try to do his best. I don't think that me telling you about my dad will help you,but just consider what the world would have been like with out yours - think of things that you have gone to him for help with in the past, maybe things that you felt at the time there was no one else that could help....with all due respect, if all you have against him is that he is gay, is it really enough to worry about? I hope you find the answers you want and I am sorry you are concerned about this. take care.

Is gaay different from gay (homosexual?)....I'd be upset that he'd probably hurt my mother or led her on as most women wouldn't be willing to settle into a relationship with a gay man (what would be the point?). But I'd also respect his desire to finally come out...my father is 71 right now, so in his youth, being gay wasn't accepted well at all. It would've been tough back then for gays to be open about who they were.
of course, my father isn't gay...he's just an azz.

a little confused on how it was i came about and unbelieving since my fathers almost afraid of gay things if i were you though i would be acepting because if it were the other way around you would want the same feeling of not being kicked out of the family because you are the way you are.

I would be happy that he wants to live his life as normal as he can and all he wants (i am pretty sure of this ) is for you to understand. I answered another one you had and it just the opposite for me but i didn't put her down for how she wants to be and like a few others said if you loved him before you knew then love him after (I did)

If I loved him before I knew, I would love him AFTER I knew. And besides, I am sharp enough to have already figured that out!!
He has had to deal with a lot of fear, guilt, and s***. Love him anyway. I believe it's biological. He's been through enough.

I'd feel that he is my Dad and I love him no matter what. Sexual orientation doesn't change those feelings that I'm aware of. It's up to you how you handle that but my Dad is my Dad regardless.

Sit him down for a talk.
Because I don't know how he stuck it out for 24 years with Mom if the sex wasn't good. That kind of patience isn't human.

I would feel that he is still my father and that I would still love him. Being gay doesn't make him a criminal, and since there is nothing that can be done about it. Let him know that you love him.
