They certainly have every justification. Iran is a terrorist state that has proclaimed that it wishes to destroy Israel. Nuclear weapons would give them the opportunity to do so, heaven forfend.
If Israel does indeed have a nuclear capability, it will use it only as a last resort, after a first strike by some other power.
Once radical Islam has dealt with the Saturday people, their next target is the Sunday people.
Iran is the biggest threat to the West today, and their military capability must be curbed by the West.
In addition, individual terrorists must be eliminated--if necessary by engaging them and killing them.
There can be no rational argument against this two-pronged approach.

I think there are hawks in the republican party (and possibly in the White House) who would like to attack Iran. I would imagine Bush has considered it. If Bush considered Iraq a threat to the United States, then what must he consider Iran to be? Iran has been far more vocal against Israel and western nations. And they have made no great secret that they are trying to develop nuclear weapons. They will likely have these weapons within a few years.
Wo will the U.S. and/or Israel attack Iran? Will they do it in 2007? This is a tough question. While the will is there to do it, and while there may even be a strategic value in doing it, it would be political suicide for many people.
In any analysis, attacking Iran would have very significant economic effects on the United States and its allies. It would also make the U.S. look bad in front of the whole world. And it would be a bloody, ugly event that would enrage the Arab world. It would inspire more terrorism and anger against the U.S.
There would be nothing good in it, and I don't see Bush or his successor having the stomach or the support for it.
I do not see the U.S. attacking Iran in 2007.
israel, however, could be a different story. They have said that they will not tolerate Iran having nuclear weapons. And Iran's president has said all sorts of terrible things in regard to Israel. I could see Israel doing the job, and it could happen within the next 12 months, but its hard to say. If it happens, it will be very sudden and thorough.

Israel will expend every effort it can to avoid a war with Iran. This means that Iran must back off its declaration to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. There may be an outside chance that the heretofore worthless UN might be of some use in keeping a lid on things now that its chief crook, Kofi Annan, is gone. However, Israel has every right to protect itself from an imminent threat as any other nation does.
Will Israel attack Iran? That's up to Iran.

While Iran cannot stand up to the US it can probably engage the Israeli's in a long and costly war. Remember that Israel is a nuclear power and Iran is a Nuclear wannabee. So a war would most certainly happen if Iran continues her policy of attacking the two nations verbally.

1. Niether would need the other.
2. US companies sell "a TON" to Israel every year.
3 Talking to Iran and Syria? They are part of the problem not part of the solution.
I have no issues bombing the nuclear facilities if that is the gist of your question. "Signing off" on military action. A President would not "sign off" on military action this soon. The signature on the order would initiate the attack. As far as the recon goes. That is prudent if it is going on (I am sure it is.).

They already are. Scientists have been bombed. and then some Israeli stable someplace interior the international is attacked. i don't know how sustained an attack Israel can actual mount by itself. Iran is huge and that they have got some fairly frightening stuff too. they don't seem to be supplied right now by the U.S., yet a number of that's already sufficient to make you think of two times. mind-blowing now, that's a chilly conflict. i don't think of the yank public has the tummy for yet another center-East invasion mind-blowing now. Israel? i don't know. they may be waiting to rain fire on them for a pair of months, yet then what?

I doubt it. Bush is currently headed toward what they call the lame duck period of his presidency. He will have trouble doing anything. The main thing we're trying to do is keep Iran from taking over Iraq. That's why we haven't left yet Iraq isn't strong enough to defend itself the new government needs to gain more support first. So i don't think we will this year maybe the next President will take us down that rode.

oh com on.Israel has never has a good relationship with its neighbors just like the us.and as far us waging a war against Iran is concerned i thin gwb needs to get his head checked and keep looking back because one day everything is going to hit him hard on his ***.i think if Iran wants to extract uranium its Iran's problem and these are just **** scared that these countries would become stronger than the us and its allies.first he kissed India's butt to sign up a treaty but i don't think any one wants to be the next target of a terror attack because they have mutual understandings with the us.

For the U.S. to go in in and try and declare "peace" on the region invites, nearly demands nuclear retaliation, especially if it is a combined force with Israeli units. It would make a formidable fighting force, but with very self destructive results. I could see Bush wanting to decimate the adjacent power chomping at the bit waiting for U.S. withdrawal to swoop in and take over, but Saddam himself found that trying to march on Tehran was not an easy task.

you are probable right at least partially, but, there is no way Israel is going to send in troops to Iran, they might get some of them either killed or hurt, so they will send in American troops and let them die or get mangled, after all what is America for if not Israel's lover, protector, how many Israeli's were killed or wounded in the Iraq war? and who's war was that? it damned sure was not America's, America got rid of Israels worst enemy and they didn't lose one man, how great is that?? and as far as selling weapons to Israel com on since when did we ever sell any thing to Israel, hell they own the U,S, they don't haft to buy any thing, our gov, gladly gives them any thing they want FREE,OR ELSE, AI PAC WOULD BE ON THEIR AZZES SO FAST IT WOULD MAKE YOU DIZZY, I don't think Blair would be stupid enough to support Bush again with men as he has learned his lesson,so when Israel tells the U,S, to attack Iran we will be on our own, thanks to Israel we have no friends left,
and if you are dumb enough to think Israel is our ally, I have a bridge in Brooklin I will sell to you cheap,
