In the movie "Monty Python's Meaning of Life", in the scene where there's the song "Christmas in Heaven", who is Graham Chapman impersonating? I think it is supposed to be Sammy Davis Jr., but I can't really tell because I've never seen Sammy Davis Jr., just Joe Flaherty's spoof of him as Sammy Maudlin on SCTV. So, is it Sammy Davis Jr. or what?

He's making fun of that type of singer rather than an individual artist (although Tony Bennett always springs to mind when I see it), and also that style of glitzy shallow Las Vegas show.

P.S. Just as a piece of trivia, one of the plastic-breasted dancers in that scene was Jane Leeves aka Daphne from Frasier
