Piercing an ear depending on where it is being pierced is quite simple. Depending on your age and the location of the piercing and how you handle pain, will tell you how it will feel. If you are piercing your ear for the first time I would suggest going to someone for them to make sure they are even. If you are piercing the cartilage and considering along with the rest of the items metioned you have the earring to. You should have neosporin as well as the alcohol just dries the skin out and makes it keep peeling off. You will want to take the ice cube and put it on the spot you are planning to pierce and hold it there for as long as it to takes to make it as nnumb as possible, then take the needle (be sure you have cleaned it with the alcohol and and it is sterile) You have to stick the needle through your ear and make sure it is straight through not crooked. You will want to leave it in for a few seconds or minutes and while you are doing this you may want to reapply the ice as you will have to take the needle back out and then put the earring in the needle hole. As for the lime it isn't necessary unless you want to suck on it while you are doing this. So noone see you make a funny expression on your face, if there is someone around I would have them assist you. If you need parental advice I would definately seek that first before attempting this piercing.

Don't use a needle. It is better that you use a thick earing if you are planning to do it yourself. If you don't it will hurt you more when you take the needle off and place the earing.
1.Make sure you mark your ear to make sure that you aim right and even to your other ear ( if you are only piercing one than mark it anyway just to make sure everything goes smoothly)
2. Numb your ear with alcohol (if you use ice you have to be really quick) or both if you want
3. Sterilize the earing
4.Stab yourself (sounds wrong but that's basically what you do) with the earing in the desired place. Try not to go crooked (if that is a word) and fast, but not too fast that you mess up and make sure you hear a pop and that it goes through, Do NOT stop halfway
5. Clean your ear around the piercing with alcohol and you're pretty much done.

Though if you want to save yourself the hassle go to piercing places

(this is only if you are planning to pierce the bottom of your ear, use a gun or go to a professional if it is the cartilage)

i would most definitely not do it yourself, you can mess up and cause an infection or something like that. A lot of places will do it for free (i think icing does) or for pretty cheap prices. Or sometimes its like a free piercing if you buy a pair of earings. Just make sure you see them opening a new needle to decrease chances of getting HIV from a used needle. You have the right to ask to see the needle being opened.

Why do you have a lime ?

What you need is a professional .. but if your going to do it alone you need ...

Plenty of Alcohol .. Q-tips or Cotton balls .... A very Clean , Disinfected , sterile needle .. A ring to put in place , A mirror and a well lit area.
You can also use ice if you don't want to feel any pain... but it will make your hand's slippery so make sure you have a clean towel or a few paper towels.

i have had many successful piercings when i do it by myself.

1.Burn the needle with a lighter to sterilize it and wait for it to cool.
2.ice both sides of your ear lobe pierce it for like 5 min.
3. stick it the needle through
4. if you have a stud then put it in immediately after you take the needle out of your ear.

if you dont want to do it this way then go to a professional.
oh yeah and you can also buy these little piercing things just like a professional would do it except they arent a gun they are plastic things and you can do it at home.

you go to someone (a professional) and have thenm do it. yeah thats nice that you have a needle. but is it hollow? is it sterilized? i dont think so.... you do not have the machine they use (autoclave) and rubbing acohol or boiling this needle in hot water will not do anything. there will still be germs and bacteria on it.. and you arent supposed to clean piercings with rubbing alcohgol anyways.. its very harmful and damaging.. and they dont use limes nor ice in a professional studio. and you dont have the skill to get the needle through quick enough.. you will most liekly get an infection.....

never do it yourself. let a professional do it. doing it yourself will most likely cause infecton. and thats the last thing you want. and if the reason your not goingto a professional is because your not allowed well then go with a cousin brother or sister or get close with a 18 year old and have them sign the papers. at the most it will be $5 to get a peircing but an infection can be any amount of money. cheap to expencive

Come on, this is a part of your body! Go to a professional. I tried piercing my own belly button when I was 15 and it got massively infected. Still have a scar 10 years later.

leave it to a professional. Don't even copnsider doing it yourself. I am a nurse, and I have seen some HORRIBLE infections from that type of thing.
