This is usually caused by stress and can last for months! Try taking calcium with magnesium. You must take them both for this to work. If you don't have any health problems start with 2000mg a day. Calcium and magnesium are responsible for muscle contraction and relaxation. If you are low on either you can have spasms. See you doctor if this gets worse or you develop other symptoms.

My right eyelid has been twitching since August! It is due to stress mostly. Some people say it could be eye strain, but when I go to read my eye doesn't twitch. ??? AND, right before I had surgery 4 years ago, just the left side of my tongue started twitching, along with my right eyelid, and I broke out in hives. That is a sheer sign of stress.
I suggest you go get a nice relaxation massage or do some meditation. Sounds silly, but it works to help calm you down... therefore, your nervous twitches.

I often get a twitch, but above my eye...it usually only last for a short time though. I get paranoid and think that everyone must be able to see it twitching! Go to your GP or an optometrist for an eye test, better to get it checked out than worry yourself about it! All the best.

More often than not it is caused by stress. You can be stressed even if you don't think you are. In fact a lot of people will get symptoms of stress and yet think they are fine until they go back and look and what has been happening. It can also be from eye strain/tiredness.

lost of people suffer from this, and its a stray muscle thats all, its usually associated with tiredness. Try to get a good nights sleep regularly and make sure you rest your eyes, not too much light or flashing images. Its nothing to worry about, it will stop but possibly start again at some stage in your life. Relax it helps
