Is this person on medication? Or does HE even realize that he has a problem? Does he think the problem is that his family is not as religious as he is and that they will die? If he realizes that there is a mental glitch, then medications could help the emotional disorder that he may be manifesting.
Religious fervor can be a sign of disturbance, if there are other signs as well. Find out if he can be given or will take the meds.. it seems as if they may be the answer here. It sounds as if the situation is beyond simply talking it out!

If he's considering about commiting suicide, try having a good, long talk with him. Explain to him that just because his family may not be as religious as he is, that doesn't mean they don't love him. Also say that it will help to try to be positive. If he thinks more about the good things in life, it might help him feel better. If things get really bad, have him see a doctor. Depression is a serious condition that kills many people per year.

Anyone who tries to commit suicide should really seek some kind of professional help. His family should really find a psychiatrist form him or something because one day he might really commit suicide and his family would feel awful for not getting him help

Some people say that if you commit suicide your soul will not go to heaven, so if that is where he wants to end up, he better think twice about trying to commit suicide again. Why doesn't he train to become a religious leader himself.

He's going to need some professional help. I'm glad to hear that he is seeking counseling, however, he is still going to need encouragement from you and his family. Since he goes to church, you may consider getting help from the minister and elders of the church. They will be able to better help him relieve himself of any burdens he feels are cause by misunderstanding God's love for him and his family.

The first thing to do is tell him that it is against one of God's most important laws. Thou shalt not kill. If he kills himself, he is damned forever. Counseling should be a great help, also. I think maybe he needs medication though. He should probably see a psychiatrist so he can prescribe him medications.....

This guy is disturbed. He possibly has schizo-affective disorder, or may be schizoid. There is little you can do to help him, other than pestering him to get treated for his depression. I'm serious!

with the proper CHRISTIAN belief your friend should know that in trusting and praying that God has a plan for his parents and whatever that plan is, it is His plan. It should comfort him to know that God is in control and that he needs give up any control to God. God loves him .Tell him to keep praying, God answers prayer!!
