Well folks the real answer is this:
During the Spanish American war in Cuba, the Cubans fought along side the American soldiers. The Cubans called the Americans war heros, which was difficult to pronounce, this war heros became guarios. People fought the Spanish were Cuban farmers , men and women, they were war heros too.
