why should students learn to appreciate the art in their lives?

Art is representation of culture, style, talent, creativity, and individuality. Students need to learn art because it helps them express themselves, gives them a talent, and helps them become more cultured.

When archaeologists look at new site the first thing they look for is remains of art. Humans are the only animals the create art and we've been doing since the beginning of our very existence, with the cave painting in France. This art this is no separation between man and beast. Student should appreciate art not just because of the above, but because it is every where just like science. Art is our homes, tables we eat at, the stove we cook with, even our cars are art. You can not go an entire day with seeing at least once, because it our food, clothes, books, computers, cups, and pots. Art is essentially the only sign of humanity.

To me art is an expression of something beyond the realms of normal or logic. It represents something truly individual and inspires people to be more and feel more. It reminds me that I am not a number or a brick in a wall that I am alive and I feel and sense.
The death of art is the death of inspiration and free thought, the death of individuality and idealism. I am a scientist to me I see art in people like Einstein because they expressed their talent creatively.
Art is at the heart of all great achievements and failures. It is a reflection of the human spirit it is freedom.

Because it is a form of human self reflection and a way to share the common experience of human life. Art allows the artist to express an experience in life and then share it with others by appealing to their senses and emotions.

For a nice visual effect. I am an artist but dont practice anymore now that there is computer art. No reason to work that hard and waste the time.

what type of art? there is an art to everything from the way you cry to the way you walk. I sometimes feel bad for the Amish because they never even heard of art or rarely see it.

life would be very boring without art. students should learn b/c it will actually come up in life. maybe not in the way they think, but it will come up.
