Okay first let me give you a quick run down, I'm a 21 year old female, good health active life, most part healthy diet. Here we have about 20 inches of snow...and it wont go away LOL and its been less than 10 degrees for weeks. But the last probably 2 weeks i'd say i have been flat out tired, ALL the time, I NORMALL would get 8 to 9 hours of sleep and be satisifed happy energetic but now i sleep, and sleep sometimes 14 hours a day and im STILL tired...could I just have bad cabin fever or something like mono? Also in addition just in the last 24 hours i've started getting the chills and the glands in my neck are swollen

I had mono in october. I ran a fever of 104 and my lymph nodes in my neck were larger than the size of a quarter. I was convinced that I had some pandemic disease and i was going to die. I couldn't even get up to walk down the stairs to my wouch without having to crash onto the couch as soon as i got there. Along with the fever I had the chills worse than i have ever had in my life, my neck was so sore (as was the rest of my body) and I couldn't sit up at all. I got at least one y nose per day, and I couldn't eat anything, because I would throw it up. Those last two symptoms are very abormal for mono though. It wasn't until about 5 days into it that I went to the doctor, and they did a test for strep, because my throat was swollen and white. It came back negative, so they tested for mono, and I had the results within a day. The moral to my long story, is that only your doctor can tell you for sure, but it sounds like you migh have it. I know friends who have had it, and barely even knew it, while I know of other people who have been down for months. Good luck; I hope you feel better.

Could be allergies. They make you tired, sluggish and make your body produce more mucus... which might be causing your lymph nodes to become swollen. I would suggest changing your air filters in your house and turn down your heat at night. You could also get a HUMIDIFIER, and let that run while you sleep.

(You might just be part bear and are trying to hibernate! I feel that way in the winter, too!)

If these things do not help, and you start to feel really poopy, then I would go to the doctor.

Also, go to ivillage.com and research the symptoms of mono.

Hope you feel better!

could be Mono. I thought I had mono, but turned out to just be Strep. Try to go to the docs. seems like you do have mono though bc you are sleeping lots for the last 2 weeks. its ok. u will be ok, as long as you see a doc. and um... yeah being tired all the time isnt a good sign. and you seem to be a normal/healthy person so chances are it is mono. chills too.. so get checked out ok.

Everyone has Mono in their bodies everyone, somethings just touch it off so your right to see a Dr. you could also be coming down with a flu, or even a bladder infection. No matter anything that makes you feel unwell for two weeks needs to thouroughly checked by Dr. Good luck and good health.

Apparently, most of us carry the virus responsible for mono, but our immune systems keep it at bay. However, when the system is stressed due to such things as extended fatigue or poor diet, mono can flare up. There is no cure, as you know, except for rest. Important you get medical confirmation, however, in case it is something else.

You could be getting sick....but it's not necessarily mono. Oftentimes ANY illness will cause our bodies to feel run-down in an effort to conserve energy to fight the infection.

I listed a web-site below that is informative - you might want to match your symptoms with the list of mono symptoms.

Feel better :)

Sounds like it could be mono. You need to see a Dr. I had a friend who was in great shape in the Army, and got mono. (It's very contagious and not just by kissing.) His throat almost swelled so badly that he had to be flown to a bigger hospital to treat it. Get checked out.
