Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
This is a very easy recipe for a delicious pot roast. It makes its own gravy. It's designed especially for the working person who does not have time to cook all day, but it tastes like you did. You'll want the cut to be between 5 and 6 pounds.
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 1/4 cups water
5 1/2 lbs pot roast
1 In a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water. Place pot roast in slow cooker and coat with soup mixture.
2 Cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low setting for 8 to 9 hours.
Servings: 12

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat
This recipe can be used with chicken, beef, pork and even venison. It freezes well, and can be made into burritos, tacos, or any number of other Mexican-style dishes. This dish uses a lot of spice, so please be sure to adjust to your taste.
1 (4 pound) chuck roast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 Tbs olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 1/4 cups diced green chile pepper
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
1 (5 ounce) bottle hot pepper sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 Trim the roast of any excess fat, and season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place meat in hot skillet, and brown meat quickly on all sides.
2 Transfer the roast to a slow cooker, and sprinkle onion over meat. Season with chile peppers, chili powder, cayenne pepper, hot pepper sauce, and garlic powder. Add enough water to cover 1/3 of the roast.
3 Cover, and cook on High for 6 hours, checking to make sure there is always at least a small amount of liquid in the bottom. Reduce heat to Low, and continue cooking for 2 to 4 hours, or until meat is totally tender and falls apart.
Servings: 12
Cooking time: 10 hours
Ready in: 10 hours and 30 minutes

Chicken doesn't actually need that long to cook. Thats why when you go for your christmas dinner it's usually quite dry. It really only needs about 4hours on slow. The way I do it is to add a small amount of water to the bottom of the crockpot, maybe add a couple of garlic cloves , some herbs or a juice of a lemo (with the skin put in the cavity of the chicken) and cook on low around 6 hours. Oce it is cooked I leave the chicke to cool, take off all the meat and put the bones back into the crockpot with if I have it in a chopped carrot, celery and onion and cook on a low temp for 4 - 6 hours for lovely chicken stock

We use our slow cooker for several favorite meals. Stew is easy and healthy and tasty. Cut up enough meat to fill the cooker about 2 inches deep. Meat can be most any kind. I've even used cooked and drained hamburger. Main thing is to try to get rid of all fat before cooking meat. Add water and spices so the cooker is half full. Cut up whatever vegs you like (medium sized pieces...no smaller than an inch)...potatos, carrots, canned corn, fresh or canned green beans, garlic, or onions...use whatever vegs you like. If you leave to go to work and do this in the am or the night before, then put everything in the pot, then cook on low. If you are there all day, cook meat and h2o first for an hour or 2 on high. Then add carrots, cook on high for an hour, then add other vegs and cook on low til all vegs are tender. Stir often and keep your water level high enough to cover vegs.If stew is done, then you may have to add flour/water mix to thicken right before you serve.

We also cook pork and saurkraut on low with h2o level with meat. Meat first, cut off all fat, then add a large jar or two cans of saurkraut. Cook on low all day, or on high for 3 hours if home.

We do pot roast also. Meat first, h2o level with meat, then carrots on top of meat, then onions on top of carrots. On low all day, or on high for 3 hours.

We do spaghetti sauce also, on low for a couple hours, then pour over spaghetti noodles.

Just get a pot roast, potatoes, and carrots. Put the pot roast, potatoes, and carrots in the slow cooker around noon and add 2 cans of tomato sauce. Make sure it cooks for about 6 hours. When you take the pot roast out it should be falling apart and juicy.

I have not made this one yet but I am planning to try it out:

Slow Cooker Stuffed Peppers
1 REMOVE tops, core and seeds of 4 peppers. Mix together 1/2 lb, uncooked ground pork, 1 cup Bull's Eye Barbecue Sauce and 1 cup each uncooked Minute Rice, frozen peas and Kraft Tex Mex Shredded Cheese.
2 FILL peppers with meat mixture. Top with a handful additional cheese.
3 POUR 1/2 cup each barbecue sauce and water into slow cooker. Stand stuffed peppers upright and cover. Cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours (or HIGH for 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours).

My favourite summer recipe (yes it is winter but it is good to be prepared) for crock pots is to:
put sliced onion on the bottom,
top with chicken pieces and seasoning (pepper, bay leaf, cayenne)
top with water
cook on low for 5 hours (I have left it 9 before)
You now have cooked chicken that can go right on the bbq and chicken stock to use for lots of different things AND you did not heat up your house.
:)

Beach Boy's Pot Roast

* 1 beef roast (chuck, top round, )
* jar of pepperoncini peppers
* slivers of garlic

Cut some slits in roast and insert garlic slivers. Place beef in crockpot. Dump peppers and all of the juice on top. Crock all day on low....at least 12 hours.

When cool, fork-shred beef, spread on hoagie (sub) rolls, squirt on some Cheeze-Whiz and pig out!!! Put some of those delicious (now meaty) pepperoncini peppers on the sub too!!
