If the seeds fall under the same plant,the young plants will not get sufficient amount of sunlight and nutriants and the growth gets effected,

It's simple to reduce competition cos the seedling are VERY obviously gonna be out-competed by the parent plant when it comes to food and room so it'll probs end up starving to death due to shortage of light, water and nutrients or strangled to death by the parent plant's root system ;p

so the young plant has enough light and doesn't compete with its parent, to prevent allelopathy if it is occurring, and to help the young plant to escape plant predators long enough to grow to a size big enough to survive the plant predators.
