I know lots of Catholics. They aren't supposed to, but out of about 30 families, none of them has more than three kids. What do you think?

Umm, yes - of course. When you are in a relationship and are unsure (scared) of the future, (job security, people changing, etc.) a period of time is usually agreed on, before children are brought into the new family.
Catholics are not stupid, so of course use all the modern medical advances available. (Um I can't say we - I do not speak for all what billions of Catholics - just me and my wife waited two years then our son was born.)

People need to reduce the stress of daily life from their lives, and birth control is one of the tools with a higher percentage rate than any other tool that accomplishes the partners goal. In all the radio and TV shows I have listened to - nothing shatters a relationship faster than unplanned pregnancies, and after the betrayal of trust comes the law suits for support, and more passionate fighting and crimes, etc.
The use of birth control, of some kind, is used in some degree, by everyone. Few couples can have 14 children anymore.

Catholics are not allowed to use artificial means of birth control which slam the door in God's face regarding creation of life, telling Him "not your will, but mine be done". Also, many methods of artificial "birth control" are abortifacient in nature, killing a human being in the earliest days of his/her life, and placing the woman's health at risk. Catholics are allowed to use Natural Family Planning (NFP), which is safe, effective, and natural, to space or time the birth of children, for a sufficiently good reason. No, this is not the "rhythym method", which no-one has used for at least 40 years. See the link below ...

This is an issue I have been debating within myself for some time. The church teaches that no contraception should be used...period. I have in the past beleived that contraception that prevents fertilization of the egg is fine, because life has not yet been created, so you are not killing a potential baby. However, I am beginning to question this, and I am beginning to side with the Church, because I have come to admit that many of the heads of the Church are much wiser than I am.

Peace!
There are several methods approved by the Church. One is the Billings Ovulation Method (BOM) which is more effective than pills. It has absolutely no side effects and you can choose the sex of your baby. You can also have a full sex life with this method.
See a Pro-Life counselor for details.

I suppose some do.
And your point is ....? ah, to point the finger.
How nice. I suppose that you are perfect.

Well, nevertheless, I remember one priest giving a sermon one day, and as I was snoozing off, his words startled me awake: "something something hippocrits, well, there's always room for one more!"

Yes, please do. And convince your muslim friends to do the exact same thing. You know, because what Pope Benedict has to say carries a lot of moral weight in the Muslim world right now.

Yeah.
