Do you have to be connected to the Internet to change back from IE7 to IE6?

After my sister's computer crashed, she took it in for repair and it was reloaded with Windows XP. However, when she tried to re-load her ISP disc, it was not possible because she had Internet Explorer 7 and the ISP disc was not compatable because it contained IE6. Does this mean that she will have to get XP loaded again or can she go back to IE6

she can go back to ie6. to do that you have to do system restore, it's the best way to get rid of the browser.

I suppose, you r saying that Windows XP & Internet Explorer 7 is installed on ur system. So, if you want IE6, click on Start>Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs. Scroll down & look for Windows Internet Explorer 7. Click on it and click on Remove. Once IE7 is uninstalled, you will be asked to restart ur system. After restart, IE7 will be automatically rolled back to IE6. However, I do not recommend you to do so as IE7 has enhanced security features.

You don't need to connect to internet to uninstall IE7.

If IE6 is on the ISP disk, simply uninstall IE7 and install IE6 from the disk. No need to connect to the internet

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
Click "Add or Remove Programs."
Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."
Uninstall that,restart your PC and you are on IE6

You should just need to go to add/remove programs and remove IE7. It doesn't ned an inernet connection to do this
