I never saw a "crispy" orange peel. The peel of any fruit or veggie is just the outer layer.

Crispy? My god do you have weird oranges! Otherwise check their "sell-by" dates. Hey, they're not GM oranges are they? Maybe with some walnut genes?

i dunno if you've been cremating your oranges, but my orange peel is quite soft. its called peel cuz you 'peel' it off the orange, isn't that clever?
