Getting drunk DOES dehydrate you. Alcohol acts as a diuretic....makes him pee. The best thing is to give him water, but with nausea and vomiting that will probably be very hard. The best treatment is actually some IV fluids. That would rehydrate him quickly, and make him feel better within the hour. So unless you know a dr, paramedic, or nurse, then you're probably back to square one. Sorry I couldn't help you more. He'll just have to take sips of water and try to hold it down the best way that he can. Best of luck to you.

As far as I know, hangovers don't cause diarrhea. How long has he had the "hangover"? If it has been more than a day, I would suggest that he go see a doctor. He may have a form of alcohol poisoning or something other than a hangover. Regarless, he needs to be rehydrated.
Until you can get him to the doc, if he can tolerate it, have him sip some Gatorade to get his potassium back up a little. I'm not a drinker, but I've heard that 1 beer helps, but I would only suggest that if he can keep it down, obviously.

Time is always the best. Pepto Bismal or Immodium AD may help with the diarrhea however, you may need to take a trip to the store for an over the counter anti nauseal medication to get that far. Although it may be upsetting to you, it may be better just to let it run it's course. If it lasts longer than a day, I'd suggest taking him to a doctor to make sure alcohol poisioning is not what's going on.
Good Luck With This

ok. he needs to replace some electrolytes.
common household items easy recipe:
ELECTROLYTE AND FLUID REPLACEMENT
One teaspoon of "Lite Salt" (by Morton, 1/2 iodized potassium chloride, 1/2 sodium chloride in a blue cylinder)
1/3 teaspoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate),
10 teaspoons of table sugar (sucrose),
one quart of water.
That happens to be a life saving fluid replacement and partial electrolyte expedient replacement. At least it is expedient if you have had the foresight to purchase the above three items BEFORE an emergency happens while it is readily available and very cheap. Many people die in times of emergency because of fluid losses. This can be from burns, vomiting, or diarrhea. The body needs water and certain water soluble chemicals to function. If either or both of these drop below a certain level, you die. There are many non-fatal diseases like cholera that become fatal due to lack of simple things like proper fluid replacement. If you have ever had a bad case of diarrhea and start to have pain in your muscles or joints, congratulations, you have had the early warning symptoms of a potassium deficiency.
I would make this for my daughter when she was sick.

Ice chips only for about 2 -3 hours.
Your husbands body is saying ' i have got to get this poisonous alcohol OUT of my system before it damages my body'
Let him vomit, or diarrhea it out.
After 2 -3 hours of ice chips- try sips of water, gatorade, only if the nausea is gone.
Pepto bismol chew tabs are about the best thing i have found to stop nausea and diarrhea.
If he keeps at least 4 oz. of water or gatorade down for one hour, then try dry toast, crackers and more gatorade. If he gets more nausea and tries to vomit / or has more diarrheas-after 24 hours I would seek medical attention asap.

um, if he is dehydrated, give him hydration - meaning water.
As someone who spent years drinking way too darned much, this was my morning recipe - in fact. it let me drink alcoholically for years without too much of a hang over.
16 oz water and 16 oz of gatorade mixed with a pinch of salt, and followed by a couple of tums antiacids.
Helps to keep some activated charcoal capsules around (they sell them in health food stores) and take one of those too - keeps you from getting the runs after a night of poisoning the intestines with booze. And a B complex. Nothing in a big dose - just you need to get thiamine and such into his system because booze uses those things up.
I promise, those things will do the trick.

It sounds like your husband may have alcohol poisoning. How much did he drink? Keep him hydrated with water, small amounts frequently, no solid food until he stops vomitting. Don't let him sleep for long periods without waking him. I would consider calling a medical professional if his symptoms do not get better. Don't take Tylenol, it doesnt mix with alcohol. Remember, small amounts of fluid, don't fill him up with anything, you don't want him to fall asleep and throw up in his sleep, he may aspirate.

Give him something to drink with a lot of electrolytes like Gatorade and some pepto bismol or something. If you don't have that just give him water. If it's getting serious he needs to see a doctor ASAP.

If he is dehydrated, which he undoubtedly is, give him some water. Pepto, etc.
