There are several things you could consider, it very much depends on the persons character ,boy or girl?!.Prepare a nice meal,hang up a welcome banner.arrange a party,put flowers and a nice card in their room,guide them round the house so that they can become familiar with their surroundings, this often helps people feel at home.(Arrange a job rota together because there will be two of you instead of one).Make sure the house is presentable ,clean and comfortable.Leave out a special gift to celebrate your joint house share i.e.a new chair or rug, framed photos.Plants etc.Champagne.Lindsay.

I think a special dinner is the first thing because you will always remember then as the day your friend moved in.But do make it special. Candles etc and soft music and dress up in something very nice

make room in your wardrobe. have the house sparkling and sprinkle rose petals on the bed and bedroom floor. keep a bottle of bubbly on ice on the bedside locker, light some candles and oh clean sheets would be good too!!!!

awwwww....what a sweet idea.
make sure you have a spot for his things...totally empty. that will make him happy. and show you care about his personal space.
and make a dinner!
your first dinner together as "together". you can cook while he unpacks his things. or you can cook together!!! get used to it, hopefully you'll be cooking many meals together.
AND HAVE LOTS OF RELATIONS!!!!!!!!!
(make sure the house is clean, so he won't have to worry if he made the right decision)
