hi, nicely, up till those days i had always stuck with a movie format 35mm SLR (unmarried lense reflex) digital camera and dedicated flash gun. THEN, having resisted the urge to bypass digital i gained a kodak digital camera! it truly is mind-blowing! you are able to also purchase a 'docking' equipment to bypass with it so as that he would improve his own prints off the digital camera in some seconds which i have discovered worthwhile. that's a neat little digital camera, compact with a lot of different purposes on it, jointly with low gentle images, candle gentle, and a putting that reduces the chance of digital camera shake or concern move, Plus a memory section he can 'shop' his "favourites". it truly is aroud the £one hundred mark and that i will really say it truly is an excellent little huge style that provides a lot in the international of images. you'll favor to purchase him a 'memory card' also which permits more suitable images to be held by using the digital camera. It even has a video and sound putting for him to video some thing too and springs finished with it truly is own charger, cd rom and docking plate waiting for if and once you purchase the docking bay. it truly is nicely worth £one hundred of anyones money. take a seem and observe you'd be very shocked. good success, and "would the subjects continuously come as a lot as greet your sons lense and his shutter launch finger under no circumstances weary" :-)

For a great prosumer digital camera, take a look at the Nikon D50 or D70. Both are priced under $1,000, but they both retain that SLR body feel.

I own a Fuji S5200, which is "SLR-like". It's much cheaper than a true d-SLR. It includes RAW mode, which takes fantastic pictures. I guess the answer to your question really depends on how much you emphasize the "pro" in "prosumer".

I'm thinking you mean a non-SLR, since you say you already have a "pro digital." The Canon G7 is pretty well reviewed, although I have never used one.

Go here to read the specs. Click on "In-depth review" and "Read owner opinions" to get several opinions.
