What would they do? How many of you would deign to answer this quesion?
The fact is, all three are atheists, and one admits it. The other two are de facto atheists, meaning when everything is normal and no one is challenging them, they subconscioulsy recognize that there is no God, only imaginary ones (and that's not bad, cause imaginary Gods are good, each in his own way).

As to my question, would you agree that all three would likely behave in a normal manner inside the elevator, depending on the personality of each one?

Well, the priest, and the Baptist would rape the Atheist. Molestation in in their blood after all.

Well, if all three are truely atheist, it depends on how grand their bigotry is. I am a Baptist, but a non-practicing one. How hard core are each about their religion?

if stuck in the elevator for an hr or two, I feel both would act in a normal manner. If the two fakes truely try to live up to the Christian doctorine, they would be nothing other then cordial and compassionate. Friendly.

If someone were in that situation of faking a religion, they probably do so because of social standards. What their core units believe in. In a situation where they were all in a small private area with like minded individuals, they would be at peace. If the subject came up, Im sure they would make a remark or two to try to keep up apperances at first. But any point they made would be passive, and they would be non-persistant about it. Especially if the open atheist would let any point made go without trying to counter too harshly.

Besides, who wants to get in an argument when stuck in an elevator?

I think you answered your own question with your final statement. It all does depend on the individual personalities of each one. Also where is the elevator? Is it going up or down? What state is the life of each person there? How old is each individual? What life events have added up and shaped who these individuals are now? What emotional issues and baggage to any of them carry wich affects even how they interact with people on a day to day bases? There are so many factors that could guide how each individual would act in this situation that it's unfair to expect an accurate answer.

I have no Idea what you're talking about! DeFacto Atheist? Huh?

Lets say the the priest lets out a little holy smoke from his buttholy. Then you'd start seeing some actions taken by the other two.

Gee, as a Baptist, I think I'd try to save the atheist's soul and the Catholic priest would forgive the atheist. Ha ha. I hate to inform you of this, but Baptists and Catholics are not atheists, we believe in God and his Son.

The question is, how long would it take to find this out? I once sat between 2 born-again xtians on the airplane, and they knew I was an atheist before the plane took off (one of them was dissing scientology, and it just came up). But usually no one finds out in casual conversation with me.

The baptist would pray to Jesus, the atheist would be depressed and the priest would try to cop a feel before he died.

Peace!
Soldiers who have been in combat will tell you that there are no atheists in foxholes, so the atheist will most likely ask the priest for absolution. The Baptist will be waving his Bible and condemning the two.for their sins, etc. etc.

Yes they may remain calm or panic depending on their personality regardless of who they were and regardless if they were true Atheist or not. They may even piss their pants. I am very doubtful as you seem to be suggesting that anyone of them would convert. OO

It would depend on the length of time they were trapped, I suppose. It would also depend on whether or not any of the three were claustrophobic, as far as how long "normal" behaviour would last.

Yes.

this is a good question actually, if they didn't know what the others religion is they might end up as being friends :) not close friends but they'd be friendly.
