Since Wednesday I have been having uncontrollable hunger where I feel hungry frequently, especially after just eating. I have been eating quite a bit to feel satisfied. However, since Wednesday I have lost 3lbs. This is not good because I am already a little underweight for my age & height (I am 16, 5'9" and 113lbs). My other symptoms include being very thirsty and urinating a lot throughout the daytime. I have been having frequent bowel movements as well, that started out as loose & watery and now are what I would consider "normal". I also get upper abdominal pain after eating meals, not snacks. It's a burning, gnawing feeling that lasts for about 1 hr and then I get very hungry.
Anyone know what could be wrong with me?

I just would like to add that I am not "joking" or trying to "pull one over" someone. I posted this in the Diabetes forum yesterday, but people were telling me that it only MIGHT be diabetes and is probably not. I need more opinions. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday.

You have the same thing I had. Your hormones are unbalanced right now and it has to do with the master gland that controls your entire body. My pitutary was damaged and when it''s damaged or not working correctly you will experience thirst, urinating alot, loss of weight and other symptoms. Here's what I did and you need to do. I went to a Neuroligist and he took an Mri of the brain. Then we he found the problem he sent me to a Encrondine doctor who specializes in Diabetes. They took my blood work and found that my hormone levels were low and now I get the medication daily to feel better. Go on wedmd.com and look up Adult Growth Hormone Defiency. Also buy Boost at the store. They sell those nutritional drinks and Boost can also help you put weight on. I would set up and appt to get your blood tested and they can tell you from that what your low on as they did that with me. Adult Growth Hormone Defiency is grouped under Diabetes. If you have a regular doctor you see ask him for a referral to a Endocrine doctor. Tell him your symptons and if your doctor knows him he can probably get you in since your not feeling well. Good Luck!

I'm not a doctor, but I suggest seeing one. My dad had a similar condition, turns out there was a gray area on his stomach which ate all the food he ate, so it was almost like he didn't eat anything at all. He was losing weight, 45 years old, 6 feet tall at 120lbs. His doctor prescribed a medicine which cleared up the gray area in his stomach. He is now 165lbs. So my point is, you may want to see a doctor.

I don't know the answer to your question, but that is very rapid weight loss for someone who is not trying to diet. You need to see a doctor and not trust medical advice from here.

Considering you are losing a lot of fluid in increased bowel movements, that might explain the increased thrist....
However, I'm going to second the getting your blood sugar checked.

If this is not a joke, then you need to call your doctor NOW. Tell him your symptoms. He will probably ask you to come in right away. If you're not just trying to pull one over on someone, and these are your actual symptoms. Call the doctor now or go to your local emergency room.

Yes...sounds like it could be diabetes but for goodness sake tell your parents, don't waste time asking on here. We're not experts. Get to a doctor.
