This looks like something out of a spy thriller but there are real... cool trianers/sports shoes that have a gps tracker in them and a panic button linked to a monitoring centre so you know where your kids are on the internet and the kid can tie his shoe laces and send s ignal to the cops etc hes in toruble and give his exact location and continually do so.
How many parents would get these for their kids?

ie trainers with a GPS satellite tracker and panic button in them thats linked to a call centre.
Best bit would be if they got nicked the cops could follw the trainers
What you think?

Good, the technology isn't relatively on hand. The chips in dogs and cats are not GPS chips, they are passive RFID chips. That means they have no vigour source, and may simplest be read from inside a number of toes with a particular reader. That is like ordinary anti-theft technological know-how. That you would be able to get 'energetic' RFID chips that have their possess vigour supply (like a battery) and may also be read for as much as countless numbers of yards, but those are too enormous to implant under anyone's epidermis. GPS chips are even higher and require much more vigour than active RFID chips. That is considering the fact that the chips ought to actively keep in touch with the satellites. Chips like these are normally the scale of the little field thing on an ankle monitoring bracelet, and require really slightly of vigour. You will see an identical chips in mobile telephones, despite the fact that these can also be grew to become off or thrown out of the avenue or snuck into the again of a random character's pickup truck if the little one is kidnapped, and if the baby is lost they'd be equipped to call anyhow. Although the technology was once possible, no, i do not believe it will be trustworthy. If there was once a system to track them, what's to stop a pedophile laptop hacker from watching for kids who're by myself or in remoted areas quite often, or deciding a youngster's time table, or whatever like that?

I think making your child wear these shoes would give him or her an unnecessary fright of this world. They would feel vulnerable and out of control without their "special" shoes.
Besides, it would only be a matter of time before kidnappers started taking off the kid's shoes and dumping them before running off with the kid.
Instead, we're better off teaching our children real-life survival skills. Teach them the importance of never going anywhere alone, make sure we keep track of them all day, every day, especially between 4 and 8 pm, when the most kids are left alone.

I saw these shoes on the news and they were about $300 a pair. I would not spend that much for something they may lose or out grow in a few months.

They are neat but too expensive. Not many people will buy them unless they are rich...lol.
Now what happens if these get popular. Kidnappers will know to take the kids shoes off and leave them before kidnapping.

I think I would have to discuss it seriously with my children before I even considered it. But as neither of mine live at home anymore and one isn't even a child anymore it's not likely to be an issue.
