Call the credit card company to send you a new card and that you want your credit line to be reactivated. If it was in collections, it's not going to happen. Pay off this card, and apply for another credit card.

Did you close the account or just cut up the card?

If you closed the account then you will not be able to get the card turned back on you can only ask for a new line of credit.

If you cut the card up then simply give them a call stating you would like a replacement card.

I hope this helps,
B

You need to pay off the card, and then cut up into many pieces. It's not a good idea to cancel the card, as it will hurt your credit rating.
