Absolutely not. 5 years is not a big age difference in this day and age. My fiance and I are 3 1/2 years apart (I'm 31, she's 28) and we've been together for 8 years now.
As the song does, "Age ain't nothin' but a number". It comes down to how you work together as a couple. If you have similar interests and have a good time with each other, then don't let the age difference change that.

No..you're not robbing the cradle!!
My other half is 5 years older than me.
My mum is 11 years younger than my dad
My sister's fella is 17 years older the her!!
Generally age difference becomes less important once the younger one is out of his/her teens.

Age is just a number, for the most part. Is he mature enough to both be a father and a step-father? can he handle being in a serious relationship, or is he still sowing his wild oats? Those questions are more important than a five year age difference, IMO. If you like him, and he likes you, and your lifestyles and maturity level are compatible, then go for it!

No, you both have children and you both are adults. When you are in your 40's, 5 years difference won't mean much anymore. Follow your heart, not your math!

You can only achieve the status of a real cradle-robber if you were learning calculus while he was learning not to poop in his pants.

Ruby, you are two grown adults. If you LIKE each other, you should date. If you come to love each other. GO FOR IT. Love is wonderful. Best wishes.
