Global warming is caused by green house gases. Green house gases capture the sun's light and channel it into the ocean. This is melting the polar ice caps. When all of the ice is melted the sea level will rise 20 feet. This will cover about 50% of land on the coast and all of China will be covered also. If we continue to let this happen the world will cease to exist as we know it. We need to provent this. We can provent this by not using coralforal carbons, using less energy, and making the smog that comes out of factories cleaner.

Can we prevent global warming? OF COURSE WE CAN!

We just need to think a little about it before the next time we hop into our cars for a little drive.

Today, action is occuring at every level to reduce, to avoid, and to better understand the risks associated with climate change. Many cities and states across the country have prepared greenhouse gas inventories; and many are actively pursuing programs and policies that will result in greenhouse gas emission reductions.

At the national level, the U.S. Global Change Research Program coordinates the world's most extensive research effort on climate change. In addition, the Clinton Administration is actively engaging the private sector, states, and localities in partnerships based on a win-win philiosophy and aimed at addressing the challenge of global warming while, at the same time, strengthening the economy.

At the global level, countries around the world have expressed a firm commitment to strengthening international responses to the risks of climate change. The U.S. is working to strengthen international action and broaden participation at a global Framework Convention of Climate Change that will be held in Kyoto, Japan, this year.

So yes, we can help to reduce the effects of global warming.

A) The worl won't explode any time soon, but I read somewhere it will be to hot to live on in 400 years (which isn't much once you think about it.)
B) We can stop it by recycling, not throwing trash in the ocean, carpool, stop sending toxins in the air. Thse are really just ways to help the earth, not just global warming.

Global warming and cooling cycles take place continuously. Why do you think "we" can do anything at all to affect this? The whole "global warming" thing is purely political and has no basis in science. Two weeks ago British researchers completed their temperature study of year 2006 and determined that earth;s average temperature increased by 3/100ths of one degree. I'm not ready to start running around in circles waving my hands in the air just yet.

well lets see hear.global warming?I can only see us getting in touch with the space aliens and asking them to take over the worlds governments and make us go to horse and buggy's till they devise some natural ways of energy.or develop a virus to kill off most humans.a virus . yes . this would be my choice.as were as parisites on mother earths skin.if the feds made everyone completely stop all emission.the developing country's Would keep right up with theres.so if we cant get the aliens help ha ha.then a massive nuclear war would be in order.so there you have it the ONLY ways to stop it.theres no way we little humans are going to tell big buisness in this country to stop it.My God almighty..they pump tons and tons of mercury in the oceans every day.and were getting sick theres warnings on some fish now. and we let them just keep it up. because it might hurt them to actually cleanse it from there pollution there dumping into the water we drink and its in the food we eat and were getting sick and people are sheeple and if they do anything at all they will just baaa baa baa like the sheep there are.and keep getting sicker a nd sicker the rich folks get to drink bottled water.and afford organic foods.so sorry theres no hope at all.so my only advise would be to buy some high land and hand it down to your childrens children so they can get rich selling ocean front property.Peace

If everyone could just spend five minutes to help the environment or be more cautious this wouldn't be a problem. And no, the world will not explode.
