First tip is, as long as you dont run out of tapes, record as much as possible, taking breaks whenever there is unimportant stuff going on, so you can have continuous coverage of important events. Also, bring a tripod, but dont necessarily stick it in the ground but just attach it to the camera, and extend the legs, but fold them. So you should have essentially a really long pole attached to your camera. Hold the tripod at the middle, and when you walk around, use your elbows to absorb the impact of walking. This will reduce shake and make your shots steadier as well, and when you need to, just open up the legs and you have a standing tripod. Thats pretty much all I can give you. But the most important thing is getting as much coverage as possible. So bring along a lot of tapes. The extra footage will be a godsend when your editing, since you wont have a shortage of footage.
