yes, there is no problem doing so, just take into consideration the height diff. you now will have thin set and the thickness of the tile, so all door jams need to be cut and think about what it will look like around your kitchen cabinets. all should be fine so long as also you have no loose tiles.

Theoretically, it's okay, but it doesn't mean that it's correct to do. If your existing tiles are secure to the floor, yeah, go for it.
But honestly, it's best to remove the existing tiles (and any laying underneath those), and strip the floor down to the substrate. Otherwise, you may be contributing to an underlying problem by slapping on another layer of tiles.
The most ideal work surface is one that has been properly prepared. It's more work, yes, but it's the best way to do the job.

You really want a level floor I'm guessing, so if you don't want to take up the old floor you might consider putting down a cement board to even out the floor and makes it easier so the new floor doesn't slide around. Its probably not a good idea to just put the new floor on top of the old floor, but you can do it!

It's a bad idea, specially if the old tiles are kinda lose, they will fall and drag the new ones with them to the floor, and you will have to start over again anyways.

If the old tiles are not chipped at the corners, and are firmly down on the floor. If there are loose ones..or chipped ones, I would advise pulling htem all up. Otherwise...I think you would be fine putting new ones down on top.

Do NOT put ceramic tiles over ceramic tiles ever!!! It is actually best to remove any tiles regardless of kind, but it is possible to put it successfully over smooth, clean, uncracked or untorn vinyl tile.

if you're talking ceramic, the answer is no. You need a fairly smooth surface not to mention that the weight of all that tile could cause problems.
