The accident has nothing to do with the DUI.

He'll be charged and prosecuted for it.

The accident liability is the same whether he was DUI or not. The car owner's insurance may be stuck paying.

It depends on your state! Most states will find the driver liable for the accident and they will be responsible for the damages and injuries caused by the accident. They will also be more likely to serve some type of jail term since their negligence caused a accident when they were violating the law.

Well after his criminal trial and the resulting fine, jail time, license suspension and probation, there is the CIVIL trial. This is where he gets sued for everything he owns. In short, he is screwed and rightfully so. Should have called a cab.

In Missouri, he would be facing one count of Felony Assault for every person injured in the accident. Be glad he didn't kill someone and get ready for hefty legal fees, fines, and probably some jail time.

In Texas, your butt is in a boat load of trouble. Jail time, heavy fine, court date, personal liability if injury is involved...and if underage.... even heavier penalties. If he's in the Lone Star State, he needs a good lawyer.
