Metamucil is psyllium fiber. Buy it at any grocery store/pharmacy. You pay more because its in a plastic container. If you want it cheaper, probably a health food store. (Its in the laxative section)

metamucil is psyllium. You can also find it generically in most drugstores in the "tummy aids" section. It is that powder that dissolves in water. You can also find it in capsules, if that is easier.

Bran is mostly, metamucil is almost pure, you can get it pure but it tastes gross in that form
