want to find birth details of a resident at work know his full name,d/o/b fathers full name mothers first name ,gentleman not sure where he was born bristol or cardiff . need to obtain a birth cert

Not sure why you need this, but you can obtain details from the Registrar of Birth, death, etc in the relevant areas, they will also give some advice on how to search birth records.
You can go online and search 192.com is the one for details of electorate and has telephone directory, you might find someone from the same family, if it is an unusual name.
Otherwise its St Catherines House, London I think to check the national records.

The Cardiff Registry Office is in Park Place, near city centre next door to the Students Union.

Go to the registrar's office - try Bristol first and then Cardiff - with all that information, you should get the info you need quickly - I'm from Bristol - I think that the registrar's office is in the city centre somewhere.

He should go to a local registry office and give them these details they should then be able to do him a copy of his birth certificate for a small charge then he will know where he was born

You can write to the Bristol and Cardiffs townhalls and they will issue one, cant find any other national database

if you can find the district he was born in like mine is county durham then phone up the birth and death records and they'l be able to help.xx
