Im an 16 yearl old Mexican American, one of my parents is an American born Mexican American the other was born in Mexico. I have only been there once to a small town and the fiestas were very nice and the people very friendly, everybody says hello, I guess just like in small U.S towns.

I'm planning on joining the Navy when I'm old enough. I am a proud American, however I dont see anything wrong with having a Mexican flag or Mexican articles because I'm only being proud of who I am and where I come from, and in no way feel its disrespectful to my country. I feel its like wearing a jersey of your favorite team. I remember seeing many Americans of other cultures chearing for their cultures country during the World Cup.

I only ask everybody here not to take it personal when you see someone waving their cultures flag, or favorite sports teams flag, its not to disrespect anyone its to show they are proud of who they are and where they or their culture comes from.

There is nothing wrong with being brown. There is nothing wrong with being proud. BUT, don't you think it would be a bit ridiculous to be proud of being brown(or white, yellow, black, etc.?) I mean, why be proud of something you have no control over?
Be proud of your accomplishments, and stop making it a racial issue.

You have the right to be proud of your heritage. You have the right to fly any flag you choose to. As an American you have many rights & priveleges which many people from foreign nations do not have. You also have a responsibility to the nation of your birth, America. The chioces you make will decide the responses you recieve from patriotic Americans. You say that you "plan" to enlist in the Navy upon reaching the required age. Many of us have already served our country, received our medals, ribbons and scars in defense of democracy and the constitution. We take offense when we see someone disrespecting the country that we shed blood for. This is NOT a sports game, this is much more important than that my young friend. Let me suggest that you research some of the groups which we Americans oppose concerniong this illegal immigration issue. If all they were doing were wearing a shirt, there would not be such a large vocal opposition to their actions. Do some serious research into the issues and let your intelligence, & common sense help you reach a decision about this.

I have a problem with those that wave their team's or country's flag and ignore the American Flag. Example: My neighbor has his NY Yanke flag out often, yet never an American Flag....I have seen homes with a Country's flag, yet no American Flag.
If people are so proud, the fly them both ( American Flag on top)

You are an American from Mexican heritage...You should be proud......

I have a German decal on my car, I don't care if you have Mexican stuff on your car, felicidades! No tengo ninguna problema con usted.
My problem is when people don't give any respect to the country they now live in. I live in the United States and I served them for 21 years as a cop.
When people only bad mouth the U.S. and let me know how horrible it is to be here, it's hard not to say "go back to some other country, I'll hold the door for you."
We can all work to change what is wrong with the country, but continually slamming Bush and the military and the police.... doesn't work well for me.
At least you have the freedom to voice your opinion here, right?

There is nothing wrong with it. Every one should be proud of who they are and were they come from. If you look back in history, America is made up of a lot of immigrants from different countries. The problem now is America is getting over crowded and something needs to be done about that, but I think it's fine to fly the flag of your country and history.

Even if you were here as an undocumented worker, you should be able to wave whatever flag you want. After all, the ancestors of latinos and chicanos were here long before white Americans expanded into the west and kicked them out or killed them. So there is really no basis for pledging allegiance to America first.

There is nothing wrong with being any color and being proud of yourself. I hope you are proud of yourself for other things and not just your color. There comes a time in every ones life when they have to choose to stick with there own race even when they are wrong or have the strength to cross the color line to stand with the person that is right. That is why no one should let their color define them and why it is so sad that some people can only see color.

Nothing wrong at all with being brown, or any other color, and proud. The complaint is when illegals dance around waving their country's flag and demanding rights law breakers do not have that pisses people off. God bless you American!

Your point is well taken.but the Mexican Illegals are the real issue........These people are screwing up a lot of things, they come to the USA illegally, get pregnany and BAM !Because of immigration laws etc. they are protected because their newborn was born here , they are now entitled to WIC, WELFARE, hospital coverage and housing all on the backs of AMericans.......Thee jails are loaded with Mexicans who for whatever reason are there....Another burden, translators, attorneys have to speak spanish....etc......I have personally seen on more than one occasion Mexican women under the age of 25 with 4 kids and pregnant again , standing in line to get foodstamp assistance to the tune of more than 600 dollars per month....
I live in a boarder state with Meico, sorry guy,....The Mexican government is corrupt and needs to clean up and take possession of its people again.......
