We do not have a soul. We ARE souls and we have a material body. The body is the vehicle of the soul. This vehicle when old and useless we trade for a new one situated in a females womb. Soul is immortal, body is mortal. We (the soul) do not die when the body dies. This is elementary. We are confused thinking we are the body and take false designations such as "I am a man, American, white, etc., etc". This lifetime we have certain characteristics, next lifetime we'll have others.

I have a view on a soul. When I look at a person and nothing beyond that, I am looking at your soul. Your heart is your heart. Your mind is your mind. Your courage is your courage. Your malice is your malice. Your fear is your fear. Your love is your love. And so on. When one says GOD does not see race or color, that is a bunch of bologna. Besides, most referr to christ as GOD anyways. But allah loves variety. "Look how the GOD has created variety. Little thanks do you give"-quran. So in an essence, my soul is half african america and chinese. GOD has no soul nor spirit(but a TRUE being), but HE owns all souls. Like me and you. I know it says in the quran on the day of resurrection, "When the souls return to thier body's". But what if your soul has never left you? Then you and your soul are one and the same. More than likely, you and one of your angels are one and the same also.

So to answer your question, "How do I know I have a soul?". Simple. It's me. In the hands of allah. Salaam!

Personal intuition leads me to acknowledging the existence of worlds beyond this world. The Prophets of all religions have explained in different ways, each adapted to the receptivity of the civilisation of their times, the nature of the soul and its evolution.

What we see, hear, and feel is just made up of electric pulses the brain receives from our senses.

The brain can process information, but what about things that move you. How do you know you like a certain piece of art, a song, a scene of beauty? Does your brain tell you "its beautiful"? Nope.

Its your soul feeling and thinking.

because the soul is the breath of God
genesis 2; 7. the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

The same way I know I can think --- nobody can read my thoughts, there is no scientific evidence "proving" I can think (just ask my Wife) but I know I do it. Same with your Soul.

I know we all don't. We're just a set of chemical reactions. No "soul" mixed in. When the reactions stop - we're dead. We don't go anywhere after we're dead.
