Well you can have play dates with other parents at any age. I'm not sure. I mean you have to remember the kids are still growing up and don't know a whole bunch about relationship and love and what not. I mean they probably know a more than you think they know of course. They can have a boyfriend or girlfriend at age 10 or 11 I guess. As far a unsupervised dates and such you may want to wait till about age 15 to 16. Depends on the child and who they are dating to be honest. Basically you have to trust your gut instinct what you feel is right. Just make sure you meet this boy or girl first. You don't want them dating this wrist cutting, dismal, goth kid or anything.

Well I am fifteen now and haha I can give you the child's point of view.
Depending on how old they are now, I think that fourteen is a good age.
Relationships at that age are not serious but it lets people socialize with people they may not have before, and dating at fourteen is more a friends that kiss thing haah.
But I mean fourteen is a good age.
Just make sure the person they are dating is not a complete jerk and you are fine!
Happy datings!

There's no set rule for when kids should start dating. The best advise that was given to me is, evaluate your child. If you think they can handle an outing unchaperoned, then let them go. Set boundries, curfews and rules. If one rule is broken, one curfew is violated by even ONE minute, all bets are off and the dates stop until they prove they are mature enough to follow the rules. If your kids aren't mature enough to respect your rules, and abide by those rules when they're not under your wing, then they're not old enough to be *dating* on their own.

Normally it's 14 or 15 depends how mature they are, and if you have had the TALK with them yet. Tell them that whenever they have a problem or want to know something just ask you. ANd you have to be a little flexible when they ask some of those questions. If not they will get answers from their friends. SO talk with them and get to know them and make them realize you are there for them.

Whenever you think they are socially mature (as well as physically mature, of course!) enough to handle themselves on their own. When you know for a fact that you can trust them to abide by your rules and be responsible, then you should let them.
All kids mature differently, so you won't find any 'set' age number to go by.

I don't think you should try to stop them, that will only drive a wedge between you and them, but I would say around 14 or 15 is fine
