okay this all started when he asked me out and i said yes cuz i liked him but then i just remembered he's my friends ex and i was like oh s*** should i tell her we are dating?

If she's a good friend of yours, you owe here at least the courtesy of letting her know that you intend to date her ex. If you *sneak around* and hide the fact that you're dating him, she will eventually find out, and she'll be upset you weren't truthful with her in the first place. Then she won't trust you ...

Good friends are hard to find.. I think you better ask her and you already know the answer anyways. If you are going to keep her as a friend dump the guy.. Well get him to buy you an expensive dinner first..

Yes, honesty is the best policy. You should tell her now Let the **** hit the ceiling early. Instead of waiting later on down the road. You might regret it. On top of that, you could loose your best friend.

it depend on who your friend is,has she gotten over him yet.
if really she is your friend how come you forgot that the guy is her ex.
well be sure you are doing the right thing,if your friend can not trust you don't let her in for the moment.
ask her about her ex,know if she has moved on before you tell her you are dating him.cheers.
